April 17: The Wisconsin Badgers Women's Club team battled a player shortage this year. Coupled with inconsistent performance, the team encountered its first losing season under Coach Uschan's reign. Despite a rough season, the Badgers finished 12th in the ACHA National Polls, which was good enough for a bid for the National Tournament, however, their hopes were denied as the unranked tournament host team, Buffalo received an auto-bid, bumping the Badgers out. This marks the first time ever the Badgers missed the tournament since the ACHA Women's division was created in 2000. ACHA News: The season would hold some positives news: Erin Ficken earned 1st-Team ACHA All-American honors. This is the second time she has received this award). Katherine "Kat" Arner earned 2nd-Team ACHA All-American honors with her top performances against Robert Morris and Michigan State. Coach Uschan also reached the 100-wins milestone in his six-year career. Rebuilding Needed. The team is only returning 5 players next season. With goaltending as the biggest hole as Arner is graduating. All prospective players are welcome and should contact Team Captain, Lindsey Lahr.
