Two Close Losses vs Division III Lake Forest

February 17-18: The UW Badgers drop two games to Varsity Division III Lake Forest 2-1 and 3-1 in non-conference action. The Badgers drop to 15-5-0 overall record (6-2-0 in the ACHA).

"It isn't often when you can lose two games and have a successful weekend. When a club team that practices one hour a week and competes at the same level of a varsity program, it is a successful weekend"- coach Uschan.

Anne Woll (a Lake Forest graduate) scored early in the first period on a close shot to open the series. Lake Forest answered back to maintain a one to one tie through two periods. Lake Forest picked up the game winner late in the third and held off a last minute attack with goalie Melissa Wilking out of the net. Wilking made 34 stops in the game.

Lake Forest opened the scoring in the first period and held a 1-0 lead after the first period. Anne Woll connected on a one timer from Sharon Woll to even the score. Liz Johnson held the blue line strong getting the puck down to Lim, who then found Woll open in the slot. Lake Forest answered right back on a long shot beating Wilking low to the glove side. "I think that goal caught Mel off guard" - uschan. Anne Woll put one off the post in the third, but that would be the closest the club would get. Lake Forest picked up their third goal off a face off with a little over a minute left in the game to seal their 3-1 victory. Wilking had 32 saves in the loss.
