A Farewell to Five:
Elisha Cohen, Roseann Meyer, Jen Wollak, Jill Sharpe and Abbey Olson4/16/01

Elisha Cohen who played center for the past two seasons will be spending her next year studying in Spain. This was Cohen's third season with the Club. She may return to the team in the fall of 2002 as she will have about a semester to complete her degree. Elisha played in every game this season (27 games). She scored 6 goals and had 6 assists including one game winning goal.

Roseann Meyer, our top defenseman, will be transferring to the University of Montana next semester. This was Roseann's only season with the club. She joined this season after skating with the Women's Varsity team last year. She had 21 points in 26 games and lead the team in +/- with an impressive plus 56.

Jennifer Wollak made a great comeback from a broken right arm in November. Jen will be completing her Graphic Arts degree this semester and graduating. This was Jen's forth year and one of her best. Jen was off to a great start this season scoring 4 goals prior to breaking her arm.

Jill Sharpe is undecided for next season, however, she will be graduating this spring and reentering the University here as a graduate student. Jill served as a captain for the past two seasons. Sharpe scored 3 goals and had 5 assists this year as a defensemen. Sharpe also played in every game this season.

Abbey Olson, who joined the team at semester after studying in England, will graduate this spring. Abbey played for 1.5 years with the club (she also played for UW-Eau Claire her freshmen year and the Women's Varsity program her Junior year). Abbey (linemate of Vruwink and Starbuck) was a very defensive forward. She netted her only goal against Michigan in her last game as a senior.

"My best to these five players as they move on to new opportunities and challenges in life. Not only have these players improved over the season and their careers here, but they have also grown as people. I have enjoyed coaching these players and moreover I have enjoyed their friendships as well. They will be missed" - coach uschan.
