March 30 - April 1 Overview: The Badger Club finished 6th place in the ACHA National Tournament in St. Louis, MO. After playing their first two games, one of the teams protested the playing eligibility of goaltender Melissa Wilking. Games Summary. Wisconsin did defeat #4 Eastern seed University of Maryland 4 -1. They then tied #3 Western seed Arizona State University 0 - 0 (who finished 2nd). In the final round-robin game, they defeated #1 Eastern seed Penn State University 5 - 2 without Wilking. Unofficially, this would have moved Wisconsin to the Championship game vs. St. Cloud. With the sanction, UW faced Michigan in the 5th place game and lost 2 - 4. Season Recap. The Badgers compiled an impressive 18-7-2 overall record (8-4-2 in ACHA play). Technically, with the forfeitures, the Badgers record was 15-12-0 (5-9-0 in ACHA play). ACHA All-Tournament Team 4/5/01Roseann Meyer named to the ACHA All-Tournament Team (Defense) and Jen Starbuck earns All-Tournament Honorable Mention (Forward). Awards were collectively nominated by the coaches and the ACHA staff. ACHA staff then determined the team. Awards were not solely based upon points, rather that players contribution to their team. Attitude, work ethic, aggression, and overall skill were also factors in the naming of the team. Full Story |

2001 ACHA All-American Awards 4/16/01Wisconsin players grab two of the six spots on the inaugural All-American Team. Forward Anne Woll and Defenseman Roseann Meyer honored. Anne Woll was also selected to the All-Academic Team. Forward Kelly Vruwink was honorably mentioned. Full Story |
